At our Laurel chiropractic clinic, Hirsh Chiropractic Center, we feel it is most important that our procedures and exams detect and correct vertebral subluxations. The procedures administered by our Laurel chiropractor, Dr. Donald Hirsh, DC, are specifically designed to improve the health of your spine and nervous system. Below are a few things you can expect when you first visit our clinic.
Your first Laurel chiropractic examination will consist of a thorough spinal and nervous system examination. The exam will include palpation, which is a check up of your spine by hand. This exam allows your Laurel chiropractor to feel areas of your spine that may have subluxation problems. Spinal position, muscle tone, and curvatures can also be examined as it related to possible spinal subluxations.
The second part of your Laurel chiropractic exam will involve scans of the surface of your spinal area. These scans help to evaluate surface electrical impulses and measure them along your spine. Scans of the surface area of your spine help to measure the affect that subluxation is having on the motor nerve system and how subluxations are affecting your muscles.

Dr. Donald Hirsh, DC, founded Hirsh Chiropractic Center, located in Laurel, MD, in 1987 with his wife, Dr. Susan Hirsh. Dr. Hirsh's expertise lies in the correction of postural problems that cause many, if not most, musculoskeletal and spinal problems. Dr. Donald Hirsh, DC, also specializes in pediatrics, nutrition, maternal care, and takes pride in his ability to help patients with some of the most difficult and challenging chronic pain and health problems at Hirsh Chiropractic Center...
You will receive a Report of Findings from the Laurel chiropractor that helps you learn the importance of each of your tests. These exams help your Laurel chiropractor understand the subluxation process scientifically and give us a foundation for future tests in order to accurately measure your progress.
Depending on your age and Laurel chiropractic condition, X-rays are used to look for vertebral subluxations and give our doctors crucial information, including position of the spinal bones, quality of the spine, and how safe it is to adjust it. Not everyone can receive X-ray exams though, so make sure to check with your Laurel chiropractor first.
We use all of this information to make an accurate determination of what type of Laurel chiropractic adjustments your spine needs and how often you will require these adjustments. We will go over your X-rays with you in detail at your Report of Findings. At your Report of Findings, you will be given a Laurel chiropractic care plan and your Laurel chiropractor will go over any specific instructions you will need in order to receive the best results in the shortest amount of time.
Our Laurel chiropractor uses the most modern chiropractic analytical and adjustment procedures and equipment available. We consider subluxations to be a serious threat to your quality of life and your overall health. Therefore, it is important that we utilize the time-proven and well-established Laurel chiropractic procedures to help you.
After trying another doctor of chiropractic in Laurel, who was not a good match, I found Dr. Hirsh at Hirsh Chiropractic Center. The place is very friendly and comfortable. I also know that I can have a room for myself when I ask for it. Dr. Hirsh takes stock of where your body is at and takes the time to help you breathe and let the relaxing begin. He then carefully and thoroughly clears the subluxations from the spine. I always look forward to my visits at Hirsh Chiropractic Center!
Chiropractic care has changed my life! I've been getting adjusted for the past 12 years. As I've moved a few times I have experienced a number of chiropractors and their unique practices — each having something different offer. Hirsh Chiropractic Center is by far my favorite chiropractic office (it happened instantly). Not only is Dr. Hirsh an amazing chiropractor with knowledge dripping out of his ears, but the office environment is also very friendly. Thank you, Dr. Hirsh!
